* Envivio’s headend chosen by Indian TV service
Envivio Inc., a provider of IP video convergence solutions, said Doordarshan, the national television service of India, has selected the Envivio Mobile TV headend for its DVB-H pilot.
The headend comprises 4Caster M2 encoders and the 4Manager network management system. It supports most network standards, including 3GPP, 3GPP2, DVB-H, DMB and ISDB-T.
* On2 DRM protection with Widevine
On2 Technologies Inc. and Widevine Technologies Inc. are partnering to secure On2’s VP6, used in Adobe Flash Players 8 and 9.
VP6 will have integrated digital rights management (DRM) capabilities for content owners and service providers to secure the distribution and consumption of content delivered to PCs and other consumer devices. The joint solution will be demonstrated at next week’s NAB show in Las Vegas.
* Radiant unveils ASI-to-IP encoder/decoder series
Radiant Communications is now shipping its VL4119 Series of ASI-to-IP encoder and decoder units. The products give customers the ability to transport DVB-ASI video signals from point-to-point or point-to-multipoint locations over their Fast Ethernet or GigE networks. The company said the most significant feature of the encoder/decoders is the ability to deliver video signals over unlimited transmission lengths.
