* MyNetworkTV taps Tandberg
MyNetworkTV will use encoders from Tandberg Television to support the programmer’s high-definition and standard-definition MPEG-2 feeds.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the network’s origination center in Los Angeles will leverage Tandberg’s E5710 and E5780 MPEG-2 SD and HD encoders, MX5620 multiplexers, and Director v5 network management and receiver control system.

NDS’ VideoGuard security product now supports DRM as well as conditional access (CA) through a unified CA/DRM headend that allows pay-TV operators to extend their existing services to PCs, mobile phones, personal multimedia players (PMPs) and storage media. NDS said content usage rights and business models can be extended beyond the set-top box, ensuring that operators continue to generate revenues from content that consumers transfer between devices and user domains.
* Spanish provider selects Envivio MPEG-4 encoders
Envivio announced its 4Caster B3 encoding system was chosen by Globecast Spain to provide the first MPEG-4 contribution feed in Spain. The encoders are configured with 1+1 redundancy over two E1 feeds at 2 Mbps each.
