* ECI Telecom’s IPTV platform reaches 1M subs

ECI Telecom’s Hi-Focus MSAN platform now supports more than one million IPTV subscribers worldwide – covering eastern and western Europe, Israel and Taiwan.
The platform aids carriers in delivering IPTV with advanced multicast capabilities, allowing them to provide any service on any architecture via any technology, including copper and fiber.
* AT&T’s U-Verse TV, Internet services hit Texas

AT&T’s U-verse TV and Internet services are now available to more than 325,000 households in northern Texas, the state where AT&T first deployed U-verse services. The company’s U-verse service snagged its 100,000th customer earlier this month.
Also, Dallas-Fort Worth customers are receiving new U-verse TV features – currently available to all local U-verse TV customers at no extra charge. Features include AT&T U-bar, which brings Internet-like content to the TV; YellowPages.com TV; and AT&T Yahoo! Games, available on the TV screen.
* Orbital Data Net lands broadband satellite contract with state of Missouri

Orbital Data Net announced today that it was awarded a satellite broadband contract with the state of Missouri. Under terms of the agreement, Orbital will resell WildBlue Enterprise Solution’s high-speed broadband service and Encore Network’s VSR family of VPN security routers to various agencies throughout the state.
The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Department of Natural Resources will be the first agencies to receive the WildBlue and Encore equipment, with additional agencies to follow. State agencies are expected to begin using the new equipment by May. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
* Alvarion heads to Cayman Islands for WiMAX deployment

Alvarion Ltd. was picked by the Caribbean’s largest mobile operator, Digicel Group, as the strategic partner for a WiMAX deployment in the Cayman Islands.
Alvarion’s IEEE.802.16e 4Motion Mobile WiMAX product was selected to advance Digicel’s first commercial WiMAX launch. The new network offers both voice and data services to residences and businesses throughout the Cayman Islands in the 2.3 GHz frequency. Digicel plans on offering mobile WiMAX throughout its Caribbean footprint.
“By choosing Alvarion’s technology-leading Mobile WiMAX solution, Digicel will be able to once again revolutionize the way people in the Caribbean communicate, offering world class broadband/Internet solutions accessible for all,” said Mario Assaad, CTO of Digicel Group, in a statement.
