Buckeye CableSystem is drawing a bead on delivering TV Everywhere services to Apple iOS and Android devices, as well as IPTV set-top boxes and gaming consoles, with the aid of Azuki Systems.
Toledo, Ohio-based Buckeye chose the Azuki Media Platform to deliver new video-on-demand and linear programming to multiple screens. With Azuki, Buckeye can deliver programming from any source, including Buckeye CableSystem Sports Network and other linear broadcasts.
Buckeye can also enable a custom user interface with social interactivity, enhanced content discovery, touchscreen remote controls and online bill pay. The nation’s 25th-largest cable operator will also be able to generate new revenue streams with flexible monetization options, including advertising.
“As a customer service leader in the cable and broadband sectors, we are always on the lookout for leading-edge technology that enhances our branding and improves our customers’ experience and perceived value,” said Buckeye CableSystem CTO Joe Jensen. “Azuki delivers game-changing innovation that can help us deliver on the promise of TV Everywhere with its unique ability to manage and optimize OTT video delivery to multi-screens, without impacting our existing video operations.”
The Azuki platform includes adaptive streaming, entitlement and digital rights management (DRM). Azuki will also be able to provide advertising metrics to Buckeye’s advertising partners.
“As an industry innovator and technology leader, Buckeye CableSystem can now quickly and easily expand their existing video services to multiple screens while driving customer satisfaction and new revenue opportunities,” said Azuki Systems President and CEO John Clancy. “Azuki will enable Buckeye CableSystem to extend its leadership position in the industry by providing an unmatched level of video delivery and quality across VOD and linear programming.”
