According to a new study from Zacks, cable MSOs have been experiencing huge revenues off an unexpected segment of their business. According to the report, Business Service Divisions for companies like Time Warner Cable, Charter and Comcast will top out at $12 billion in revenue this year, which is a 20% increase over last year’s $10 billion.
Comcast is the biggest player in the BSD market, is expected to hit $4.7 billion this year, a 20 percent increase for the company alone. TWC is expected to rake in $3.3 billion this year.
As the revenues from business service divisions explode, MSOs are expected to fight harder to provide businesses with more of their communication needs. Zacks report speculates that the eventual market for MSOs might be around $20 or $30 billion. Business services divisions can maybe make up for the revenue MSOs are constantly losing as more people cable cut.
