Cable ONE announced on Wednesday that residents in Ponca City, Okla., were recently offered access the operator’s gigabit service, GigaONE. Cable ONE reports it has invested more than a half billion dollars on network upgrades over the past five years across its entire footprint.
“GigaONE will support the technology needs of the communities we serve, now and in the future,” Joe Felbab, VP of marketing at Cable ONE, says. “We are excited to be able to offer gigabit service to nearly 1.5 million homes in the markets we serve.”
Last month, Cable ONE also deployed the GigaONE services to Roswell, N.M., residents as well as those in Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss.
According to the operator’s website, the 1 Gbps service goes for $175/month and includes 1,100 GB data plan. Additional data plans up to 2,000 GB are said to be in the works. Subscribers need an approved DOCSIS 3.0 32-channel modem to access the GigaONE service.
