SCTE/ISBE announced it will bring together the CEOs of three industry groups during the 2018 Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta for a panel discussion focused on issues facing smaller, mid-sized and rural cable operators.
The panel, called “Off the Beaten Path: Strategies for Success in Small, Midsize and Rural Markets,” kicks off Cable-Tec’s Innovation Theater on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Speakers include Shirley Bloomfield, CEO of NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association; Rich Fickle, president and CEO of the National Cable Telecommunications Cooperative (NCTC); and Matt Polka, president and CEO of the American Cable Association (ACA).
During the opening session, panelists will take a look at the evolving competitive landscape, potential new services, and technology advancements that affect operators with smaller service footprints.
“Small, mid-size and rural service providers are essential to fulfilling the promise of ubiquitous broadband coverage,” said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE•ISBE, in a statement. “NTCA, NCTC, and ACA are well-positioned to share their members’ needs with the Expo audience, as well as how that translates into future technology roadmaps.”
The Cable-Tec Expo is taking place Oct. 22-25. Cox Communications President Pat Esser is delivering keynote remarks during the show’s opening general session.
NCTA-The Internet and Television Association CEO Michael Powell, CableLabs President and CEO Phil McKinney will share the stage with Dzuban during an open general session panel moderated by Tony Werner, president of technology and product at Comcast Cable.
