An initial review of workshops planned for this year’s Cable-Tec Expo was released Tuesday by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and its global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts. The event is set for Sept. 26-29 in Philadelphia, and workshops will reportedly include focus on DOCSIS 3.1, FTTx, software defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), as well as 1 Gbps deployments, ultra HD, virtual reality, OTT challenges and energy solutions revolving around the Society’s Energy 2020 program.
Presentations on the agenda include those by John Ulm (Arris), John Chapman (Cisco), Rob Howald (Comcast), Jeff Finkelstein (Cox) and others. John Schanz, EVP and chief network officer at Comcast chairs the program committee for this year’s show.
