Network operations will be the focus of the opening session at the next SCTE Cable-Tec Expoin Atlanta in October.
Comcast Cable chief network officer and executive vice president John Schanz will moderate a discussion of technology and operations issues with a panel that includes
- Yvette Kanouff, executive vice president, corporate engineering and technology, Cablevision Systems;
- Guy McCormick, vice president, engineering, Cox Communications;
- Matthew Stanek, senior vice president of core, regional, metro and network operations, Time Warner Cable; and
- Marwan Fawaz, partner with Sarepta Advisors.
The executives are expected to talk about ensuring fast and seamless service rollouts, the ability of technology to enhance the customer experience, and the steps that cable engineers need to take today to prepare for the technologies of tomorrow.
“As advances in network technology open the gates to new services, it’s essential that cable engineering and operations professionals prioritize approaches that optimize network efficiency and performance,” said Schanz. “Our panel’s collective insights will help to clarify the industry’s vision of the future and to ready our workforce for the opportunities ahead.”
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 is set for Monday through Thursday, Oct. 21-24. The Opening General Session is from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Two pre-conference symposia, “DOCSIS® 3.1 Engineering” and “Creating the Cable Generalist,” will be held on Monday, Oct. 21.
