Rex Porter is bringing his 40 years of experience in the cable industry to OpenVault, where he will assist the company’s strategic team.
OpenVault, a provider of solutions that help broadband providers manage bandwidth utilization on their networks and maximize the networks’ revenue potential, said Porter would help with the implementation of the company’s growth strategy across the United States.
During his cable operator career, Porter was involved in the construction of more than 25 cable TV systems in the United States. Other career highlights included: emeritus and senior and founding member of the SCTE, past partner in the ownership of Times Fiber Communications, charter member of the Pathfinders, past president of the Southern Cable Association’s Tower Club and member of the Arizona Cable Hall of Fame.
Porter currently helps manage the SCTE’s Loyal Order of the 704, the cable engineers’ Pioneer Club. Porter was inducted into the 1977 class of NCTA Cable Pioneers.
