A spokesperson for CableLabs today confirmed that switched digital video (SDV) tuners from Motorola and Cisco have been qualified.
The adapters were qualified in certification wave 60 on June 26 after the two companies submitted them for qualification testing on May 1.
The adapters were designed to give access to devices – such as TiVo’s digital video recorders (DVRs) – to channels in an SDV environment. In May, TiVo said it was working with the NCTA to ensure TiVo users would still receive programming in systems using SDV.
TiVo CEO Tom Rogers previously said his company was working with Time Warner Cable, Cox, Comcast and CableLabs on the tuners.
Motorola and Cisco displayed their switched digital tuning adapters at the NCTA’s Cable Show in New Orleans.
