At the recent annual symposium held in Jacksonville, FL March 28-31, CARTS USA honored several participants with prestigious awards. In the ceremony honoring authors from CARTS USA 2010, Clive Hendricks, Intel, received the John D. Moynihan Best Paper award and David Liu, MEI Technologies received the Outstanding Paper award.
Professor Joseph Doughtery, Penn State University (retired), was presented with the annual Dr. Felix Zandman Industry Leadership award. Named after the founder, chairman and chief technical officer of Vishay Intertechnology Inc., the Zandman award honors individuals who have demonstrated technical accomplishment, outstanding service and dedication, academic achievement or support, and industry leadership and vision. Professor Doughtery has been a regular author and speaker at CARTS conferences and is a member of the conference program committee.
CARTS also announced a new award for 2012 that will be presented to the best paper submitted by an individual from academia. Named after the founder of CARTS, the Leon Hamiter Academic Excellence award will provide travel and accommodations for the recipient to present their paper at CARTS USA 2012.
