Casa Systems has introduced a scaled-down version of its flagship integrated CCAP (I-CCAP) system. The new C40G has all the functionality of the larger C100G, but is sized for smaller headends.
The C40G is a highly available, fully redundant, I-CCAP platform that enables MSOs to deploy MPEG video, IPTV, and DOCSIS over a single port.
The C40G platform uses all of the existing C100G CCAP modules including: the downstream module (DS8X96); switching module (SMM8X10G); and upstream modules (US16X4 & 16X8).
The C40G is the industry’s only platform in this form factor and delivers the industry’s highest CCAP density, while consuming the lowest average power per channel, the company said.
“With the announcement of the C40G, Casa Systems is the first vendor to provide an extremely cost effective and highly economical CCAP platform for those operators who have smaller headends,” said Jeff Heynen, principal analyst of broadband access and pay TV for Infonetics Research.
“We are pleased to be the first to deliver the first fully functional CCAP platform in this form factor,” said Jerry Guo, founder and CEO of Casa Systems.
