How can you detect seismic waves?
At Sensor Expo 2017, Jacob Hicks, the assistant product manager for Omron Electronic Components’ Sensors unit shows the capabilities of the D7S, a vibration sensor that can detect seismic waves, and Itron’s Riva development board for wireless communications. Partnering with Itron, Omron’s D7S sits on top of Itron’s Riva board. The D7S contains an ASIC, […]
How can magnetic sensing control the flight of a drone?
At Sensor Expo 2017, Ali Alaoui, a field applications engineer from Crocus Technology, explains the use of his company’s Tunneling MagnetoResistance (TMR) sensing technology to control the flight of a drone. Crocus Technology’s patented TMR sensing technique employs a Magnetic Logic Unit (MLU) that enables ultra-sensitive magnetic sensors as well as highly robust secure embedded […]
VIDEO: Power Measurements With Markers In The Tektronix RSA306B Spectrum Analyzer
A Tektronix RSA306B PC-based spectrum analyzer is connected to the output from a Tektronix RTSA V3 Demo Board in order to demonstrate power measurements in the frequency domain. Hi and welcome to our 71st Test and Measurement Video. Today we’ll continue our demonstration of the Tektronix RSA306B PC-based spectrum analyzer connected to the Tektronix RTSA […]
VIDEO: Capacitance Measurements Using Various Test Instruments
Capacitance is measured using a multimeter, LCR meter and oscilloscope. Ordinarily, capacitors are provided with the metrics – capacitance and working volts – printed or color-coded on the component. The capacitance as labeled is generally accurate to a reasonable tolerance. For most applications a wide range of values will perform as expected. As for working […]
VIDEO: Connecting a Tektronix MDO 3000 Series Oscilloscope to a Local Area Network
A Tektronix MDO3104 Oscilloscope is networked via Ethernet and WiFi to a Mac laptop computer using a LAN connection. Greetings and welcome to our 65th Test and Measurement video. Today’s topic is a simple and highly effective way to connect a Tektronix Series 3000 oscilloscope to a Local Area Network. There are other options, but […]
