CBS has inked an extension to its streaming deal with the NFL, enabling all NFL ON CBS games to stream on CBS All Access through the 2022 season.
For the first time, the deal also includes rights to stream games on mobile devices.
In addition to CBS All Access subscribers, those with authenticated TV Everywhere access through their existing pay TV subscription will also be able to stream the games on mobile devices.
CBS said the entire 2018 NFL ON CBS schedule, including Super Bowl LIII will be live streamed across platforms. Aside from mobile devices, fans can also watch via CBS.com and on connected devices including Roku players, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Fire TV, Samsung smart TVs and Amazon Channels.
“We’re very pleased to extend and expand our partnership with the NFL and give our viewers and CBS All Access subscribers the ability to stream NFL ON CBS games on mobile phones in addition to all other platforms for years to come,” said Marc DeBevoise, president and COO at CBS Interactive, in a statement. “This deal enables us to deliver even more value to NFL fans, our subscribers and our distribution partners.”
CBS first gained streaming rights to NFL games starting in 2016, but until 2017 Verizon exclusively held mobile streaming rights. The expiration of that deal has opened up new avenues for mobile access to NFL games.
