CenturyLink has acquired netAura LLC, a security services firm that engineers, develops and consults on managed security technologies. It says the acquisition strengthens and enhances its managed security services available to business and government customers.
Last month, CenturyLink launched enhancements to its Managed Security Services Suite to reportedly better help organizations detect, prevent and respond to cyberattacks, including five integrated security monitoring and analysis services. The suite is available in the United States, either as a stand-alone service or as an add-on for customers buying hosting, networking and co-location services.
Herndon, Va.-based netAura has worked extensively with U.S. government agencies and corporations on cybersecurity, security information and event management (SIEM), analytics and vulnerability management since it was founded in 2011.
CenturyLink has been growing its Global IT Services and New Market Development organization, which focuses on IT strategy and systems consulting, application services development and management, quality assurance and testing, as well as remote infrastructure management. In 2014, it acquired Cognilytics, a predictive analytics and big data company.
