CenturyLink has expanded its cloud offerings, announcing Monday that global enterprise customers can now connect directly to Oracle Cloud over its fiber-based network.
Customers can now have dedicated and private access to Oracle Cloud via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect. The integration will provide users with the reliability of a direct, secure connection that doesn’t cross the public internet, CenturyLink said.
The company also indicated that Oracle customers can expect reliable network access to their applications and cloud data from North America and Europe through both Wavelengths and MEF 2.0-certified Carrier Ethernet services.
“Our integration with Oracle FastConnect provides our customers a network experience that matches their cloud experience,” said Chris McReynolds, VP of core network services at CenturyLink, in a statement. “In today’s rapidly changing IT environment, our customers need a network that can adapt with their cloud workloads. Our Ethernet Services connectivity offers real-time network visibility and dynamic bandwidth, providing enterprises with control and scalability across their entire cloud ecosystem.”
Oracle FastConnect delivers direct enterprise cloud connectivity to Oracle cloud from enterprise data centers and creates a speedy, secure connection to an integrated cloud platform offering a range of services across Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), the company said.
