The Forbes Global List, released annually, shows the world’s “best regarded companies” according to 15,000 participants, both consumers and employees. This year, for the first time, Forbes used Statista to turn several of its lists into interactive charts that display the detailed research in easily accessible ways.
German industrial manufacturing company Siemens took the top spot this year. It certainly has clout: Siemens is the largest company of its type in Europe, and employs 351,000 people. It made $90 billion in sales and $6.4 billion in profit last year. Siemens also conducts extensive research into subjects such as grid management and computational fluid dynamics.
The Michelin Group came in second place on Forbes’ list of “best regarded companies,” with Alphabet following. While Alphabet is still known best for Google, the parent company also works on autonomous cars, internet balloons, and fiber. Alphabet is also on Forbes’ separately collected list of the world’s best employers, chosen using 360,000 recommendations collected through global and local polls. Alphabet is followed by Microsoft in second place on the list of best employers, which came in at number 16 on the list of “best regarded companies.”
