In a move that is a boon to anyone who owns a Roku and subscribes to Charter, Charter has released its Spectrum TV app to Roku’s lineup of TV apps.
The Spectrum TV app allows subscribers to effectively add cable service—or at least what’s available through the Spectrum App—to any TV that is attached to a Roku. The Spectrum TV app provides Charter TV customers with access to approximately 160 Spectrum TV television channels and over 9,000 on demand titles.
“With today’s announcement, Charter TV customers will now be able to access their cable programming alongside other streaming content available on Roku devices. We congratulate Charter on embracing consumers’ desire to stream the video they want,” said Andrew Ferrone, vice president of pay TV at Roku, in a statement.
Charter currently serves customers in the following 28 states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
