With the backdrop of commercial services taking on added importance to Charter Communications’ bottom line, Charter Business has hired Michael Fair as its new vice president of channel sales and national accounts.
In his new job, Fair is charged with building momentum for the channel with Charter Business’ broad range of communications services to businesses of all sizes – from small companies with a handful of employees to multi-billion-dollar companies with operations in multiple locations requiring complex communications services.
Charter’s commercial business division generated nearly 20 percent revenue growth during 2011. In the most recent fourth quarter, Charter’s commercial services revenues increased by almost 22 percent, and company executives said it planned on devoting more capex to commercial services this year.
Fair came to Charter from EarthLink and One Communications, where he was vice president and general manager of the Partner Program, responsible for all aspects of management and integration of numerous programs that came together to eventually form EarthLink.
Prior to EarthLink, he was founding and managing partner of MarketRace, a channel consulting company. Fair also served as vice president of strategic partners at Qwest, where he is recognized for starting the Qwest Business Partner Program in 1997.
