Charter Communications has extended a deal with Level 3 Communications whereby the vendor will support the operator’s expansion of VoIP services to consumers and small business customers.
Under the new multi-year deal, Charter hopes to speed service deployments with Level 3’s (3)VoIP Enhanced Local service, which provides local phone numbers, local number portability, and fixed location E-911 support and local trunking.
Charter has already deployed a suite of Level 3 products, including its (3)Voice Termination, (3)CrossRoads IP, (3)Link Dark Fiber and (3)Link Intercity Private Line services.
“By working with Level 3 we can leverage a full suite of local, long distance and E-911 voice services to accelerate our telephone deployment and expand into new markets,” said Ted Schremp, SVP and general manager of Charter Telephone.
Charter has deployed telephony services in markets such as St. Louis, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Riverside, Calif.
