Teradata announced that Charter Communications is using its Teradata Warehouse Appliance for engineering, marketing and business intelligence.
Charter picked Teradata to augment its reporting and monitoring after running a series of tests on anticipated work scenarios.
Teradata said its offering would enable a new level of reporting and analytic capability. It will improve response time of existing workloads comprised of a high number of complex and tactical queries and satisfy the need to connect and integrate with both operational and business intelligence applications.
“Teradata plays a critical role in our ongoing efforts to understand our customers and their needs, helping us continue to improve their experience with Charter. In addition, Teradata enables the agility necessary to handle both complex, simultaneous queries and fast-running tactical queries requiring different service levels, and we’re confident that Teradata enables that agility,” said Charter’s Jim Matthews, vice president of enterprise architecture and strategy.
The Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance will operate with two Charter software vendors of choice: Informatica for data integration and MicroStrategy for integrated reporting, analysis and monitoring.
