Charter Communications’ Spectrum Enterprise business segment announced enhancements to its TV product portfolio that expand the HD channel lineup and provide more device compatibility.
The three platforms, aimed at hotels, hospitals and universities, all offer more than 200 HD channels, including sports, Latino and international programming and add-on premium and music channels.
Spectrum Enterprise detailed the enhancements at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference in Houston this week, including Fiber Connect Plus TV, which is an HD video programming service delivered over fiber that doesn’t require any headend equipment. Spectrum Enterprise indicated this offering is a good fit for customers looking for a platform without a converter box or as part of a third-party integrator product.
The company is also showcasing its Set-Back Box TV, which is a customizable service that delivers HDTV programming via cox, and is distributed to “slim, compact” set-back boxes mounted behind each TV. This product includes a 7,000 hour library of on-demand content and an interactive program guide.
SpectrumU TV is tailored for college campuses, delivering live TV, with local channels and regional sports networks, an interactive program guide and an on-demand content library. Spectrum Enterprise said the service can be delivered via a wired or wireless network with students gaining access using iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as compatible laptops and desktops.
SpectrumU TV will become available later this month, following field tests with more than 24 clients.
“Hotels, hospitals and universities want a TV solution that fits the needs of their guests, patients or students,” said Peter Agnvall, VP of Enterprise TV at Spectrum Enterprise, in a statement. “Our new offerings meet these demands with extensive programming packages available on multiple platforms which deliver a superior viewing experience, either as stand-alone offerings or in conjunction with a third-party solution.”
Also this week at HITEC, Comcast, AT&T and Dish announced upgrades or new additions to their video offerings for businesses.
