Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Mechanical Engineering department unveiled its entry for SpaceX’s Hyperloop pod competition. Elon Musk’s SpaceX developed the concept of a Hyperloop as a high-speed ground transportation conduit back in 2013. A design competition began in 2016 to develop a pod to transport passengers in this enclosed transportation tube. Universities from around the world will compete between Jan. 27 and Jan. 29 in an on-track competition to determine which design will be used for the proposed Hyperloop.
