Cogeco Data Centers said it was on track to open a new 100,000-square-foot data center this spring on the island of Montreal.
The new facility, which is located in Kirkland, will be the fifth location in Cogeco Data Services’ growing data center fleet.
Cogeco said the new facility, which was designed to Tier 3 standards, will provide customers in Montreal and the surrounding area with access to colocation, managed IT and cloud services that are secure, redundant, scalable and monitored 24/7/365 to ensure seamless protection and high-service availability.
“We are very excited to add another advanced facility to our growing data center footprint,” said Tony Ciciretto, president and CEO, Cogeco Data Services and Peer 1 Hosting. “The new center is specifically designed to meet an increasing demand in the Montreal region for reliable and secure ICT solutions.”
The new facility will complement the 1,500 route kilometers of fiber-optic cable Cogeco Data Services already owns and operates on the island.
With Montreal on board in the spring, Cogeco Data Services cumulative data center capacity totals more than 200,000-square feet. Cogeco Data Services operates three facilities in the greater Toronto area and one in Barrie, Ontario.
