Comcast sports fans can now tap into more live sports action now that the cable operator has added support for Android devices on the WatchESPN app.
The service, which is free to Comcast customers that subscribe to ESPN, was previously enabled on Apple devices and now works with operating systems 2.3.3 and up on Android devices.
The WatchESPN app features live streaming of sporting events from ESPN’s coverage of Major League Baseball, college football and basketball, and NBA games, as well as ESPN shows, including its flagship “SportsCenter.” ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPNU are available to Bright House Networks, Time Warner Cable, Comcast and Verizon subscribers as part of their video packages.
Earlier this year, Comcast struck a landmark, long-term deal with Disney that gave it access to TV Everywhere content from ESPN, Disney Channel and ABC Family.
