Comcast Business announced this morning that Peter Marsh had been appointed as regional vice president for Comcast Business Services, overseeing the company’s Beltway Region, which serves Maryland, Southern Delaware, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and portions of West Virginia and North Carolina.
In his new job, Marsh will be responsible for spearheading the continued growth of Comcast Business Services in this region, while also developing targeted sales and marketing operations that will further expand the company’s presence within the local business community.
Previously, Marsh served as vice president of Business Services for Comcast’s Greater Boston Region; where he was consistently ranked as a top sales performer for the company in terms of market penetration, market share, order completion and Ethernet installations.
“Peter has proven his capabilities time and time again, with record-breaking sales cycles and consistently superior performance during each of his years with the company,” said Tom Coughlin, senior vice president of Comcast’s Beltway Region. “We are continuing to experience substantial growth within the local business community, and having someone with Peter’s expertise on board is the perfect complement to expand and accelerate our efforts.”
Prior to joining Comcast in 2007, Marsh held various positions within the telecom industry, including executive sales roles with Winstar, Sprint, MCI and XO Communications.
“The Beltway Region includes a wide range of key technology, data center, financial services, government and education customers who can benefit from our advanced, fiber-optic network and portfolio of data and voice services,” said Marsh. “I’m looking forward to helping these local businesses take full advantage of the cost savings and practical benefits that our solutions can provide.”
Aided by its Ethernet product portfolio, Comcast Business Services generated $2.4 billion in revenue last year, which was an increase of 34 percent from the previous year.
