Last year, Comcast donated more than $5.5 million in cash and in-kind resources to more than 200 community organizations across Colorado.
Colorado employees donated more than $400,00 through Comcast’s annual United Way Employee Giving program. Nationally, Comcast raised a record $6.7 million-plus in this year’s employee campaign to support local United Way agencies that provide a variety of critical services and support for communities.
In the Centennial State, the Comcast Foundation awarded grants that exceeded $300,000 to a wide range of Colorado organizations, including: Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pikes Peak Region, Denver Indian Center, Denver Public Schools Foundation, Denver Scholarship Foundation and Urban League of Metropolitan Denver.
Comcast also stepped up to the plate with cash and in-kind support totaling more than $90,000 to aid fire relief efforts across the state from last summer’s fires.
More than 4,000 volunteers participated in Comcast Cares Day, Comcast’s annual day of service, on April 21 to complete a variety of valuable projects for community organizations across Colorado, and Cares Day partner organizations received cash grants from the Comcast Foundation totaling more than $86,000.
Through the Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Program, a total of $75,000 in college scholarship funding was awarded to 57 Colorado students, with 55 students receiving $1,000 each and two each receiving $10,000.
