Comcast Corp., the nation’s largest cable operator, announced today that its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.0625 per share on the company’s common stock.
The quarterly dividend is payable on Oct. 29 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Oct. 8.
Additionally, Comcast has added 10 high-definition (HD) channels to its digital cable lineup in Harrisburg and Hershey, Penn. The new channels are AMC HD, Animal Planet HD, Big Ten Network HD, CNN HD, Fox News Channel HD, FX HD, The History Channel HD, NHL Network HD, Speed Channel HD and The Weather Channel HD.
“Our customers requested the most popular movies, sports, nature and lifestyle programming in HD, and we are delivering it,” said Jim Samaha, senior vice president for Comcast’s central Pennsylvania region.
Earlier this week, Comcast launched nine new HD networks in Vermont. The company continues to expand its HD library, which is expected to offer 1,000 HD choices by the end of the year.
