Comcast announced a big round of speed upgrades for Xfinity customers across a dozen states.
Performance Pro and Blast Pro speed tier subscribers in Arizona; Colorado; Houston, Texas; Idaho; Kansas; Minnesota; Missouri; New Mexico; Oregon; Utah; Washington and Wisconsin will see their peak download speeds increased from 50 Mbps to 75 Mbps and 105 Mbps to 150 Mbps, respectively.
The newly increased speeds will go into effect at the end of October. Per usual, subscribers will need to restart modems in order to experience the new download rates.
Comcast will also notify customers who need to upgrade their modems and eligible customers who lease modems from Comcast will be able to receive upgraded modems at no additional charge.
The new 75 Mbps speeds for customers in Comcast’s western U.S. coverage area matches the recent speed upgrades the operator made for its subscribers in the northeast.
