Comcast is pushing its games business harder by widening the availability of its GameInvasion service aimed at hardcore gaming enthusiasts. GameInvasion was previously available only to the operator’s high-speed Internet access customers.
Comcast will plug professional gaming and its gaming site in several ways. Working with Major League Gaming (MLG), which fancies itself the international sanctioning body for professional gaming, Comcast will make MLG’s television show, “MLG Pro Circuit,” available through both the GameInvasion Web site and on Comcast’s ON DEMAND service.
GameInvasion.net will also now feature exclusive interviews and tips from the Frag Dolls, a team of professional female gamers recruited by game developer Ubisoft to promote multiplayer competition and women in games. The site will also feature videos, news and reviews from G4 Television, GameTrailers.com and IGN.
