Comcast has named Rodrigo Lopez as regional vice president for Oregon and SW Washington. The position opened when Comcast offered Lopez’s predecessor, Hank Fore, a similar position running the company’s California operations.
Lopez most recently served as regional vice president of Comcast’s Mountain (Salt Lake City) Region, where he held management responsibilities for 300,000 customers and 1,500 employees. That region has topped the company’s overall rankings for customer care and financial metrics, Comcast said.
Lopez will manage Comcast’s video, high-speed Internet and telephone operations in Oregon and SW Washington State, which serve more than 600,000 customers. He will report to Steve White, president of Comcast’s West Division.
“I am so excited to come to Oregon and SW Washington to lead our employees here and help them continue to provide great service to our customers,” Lopez said. “I’m looking forward to connecting with the local community and becoming an integral part of the region.”
Over his nearly 20-year career at Comcast, Lopez has moved seven times and held 12 different jobs, starting as a customer account executive working in the Orange County, Calif., call center. He often tells employees the story of how his many promotions and new responsibilities demonstrate that no matter what their current job, it’s possible to continue to advance within the company with hard work and dedication.
“Rodrigo is a great example of a valued Comcast employee who worked hard and consistently delivered results,” said White. “I know that his focus on the customer experience, leadership skills and appreciation for our employees will continue to bring success to the region.”
