Compact, Lightweight DMC-MD Single Module Cable Clamp

September 13, 2017 By TE Connectivity

TE Connectivity (TE) has recently released its DEUTSCH DMC-MD single module cable clamp. This new accessory is compatible with the existing DMC-MD single module product line. The product is ideal for use where robust wire and cable retention is required without the need for shielding.

The DMC-MD single module cable clamp is compact, lightweight and helps provide a controlled wire/cable bend radius through 90 degrees. Reduced loading on cable-entry seals and electrical contacts helps maintain maximum environmental sealing, wire-crimp integrity and contact interface position. The octagonal design allows eight configuration possibilities depending on the application. The two fixing clips allow the cable clamp to completely lock to the connector with no additional tooling required, resulting in an easy and quick-to-mount cable strain-relief solution.

“The simplicity of design and versatility of a common cable clamp for different configurations makes this a very cost-efficient strain-relief solution for DMC-MD single module plugs and receptacles,” says Stéphane Paya, rectangular connectors product manager EMEA for Aerospace, Defense & Marine at TE.

Built to withstand most harsh environments of commercial aerospace, military aerospace, cabin interiors and in-flight entertainment (IFE) applications, TE’s DEUTSCH DMC-MD cable clamp is compliant with European Standard EN4165 specifications and can be mounted to both EN4165 plugs and extender receptacles.

With only one part number, the innovative design facilitates two EN4165 accessory references (EN4165C00C and EN4165C00D), reducing the number of variants and components for TE’s customers.
