Compact, Sturdy Foot Switches Ideal For Hands-Free Operations

FM Series foot switches from Altech Corp.® offer ideal solutions for light- or medium-duty applications where “hands-free” operation is routinely required to start and stop equipment. They can be used to control dentistry tools and medical devices, conveyor belts, sewing machines in textile factories, and many other types of machines across industries. Standard features and a wide range of available options expand application possibilities.

These compact and sturdy foot switches are available in a wide variety of pedal colors (with or without imprinting) with up to six pedals per foot switch meeting typical contact and switch insert configurations. Two levels of ingress protection (IP 43 and IP 65) are standard. The switches are available with momentary, maintained, or two-stage momentary activation modes. Their electrical rating is 5A/125-250 V AC and circuits are SPDT-SB, DPDT-SB, and 2x SPDT-SB. Additional standard features include UL/CSA-approved snap action switches and cable strain relief. They can be supplied with or without multi-conductor cable. The switches can operate in a wide temperature range from -20º C (-4º F) up to 80º C (176º F).

Options include additional IP 68 protection level, specially designed gold-plated contacts for low-current applications, high-current switch inserts, several strain relief designs (standard straight-through, bend protection, and trumpet pull/bend protection with protection levels IP 68), shielded cable, custom connectors, and metal guards in standard and custom colors. Medical versions with IEC 60601-1 certification are available.

All FM Series foot switches can further be customized per customer specifications to satisfy any application requirements.
