Sling TV already offers an assortment of channels for kids including NickToons, TeenNick, Boomerang, Baby TV, Kaboom, Disney Junior, and Nick Jr., but it looks like it’s upping its game in that arena with its just-announced “Sling Kids” on-demand programming. The company reports in a blog that more than 200 on-demand TV shows and movies from Kabillion, Kaboom, and Splash are available as part of the “Kids Extra” add-on pack that goes for an additional $5 per month for Sling Orange and Sling Blue subs.
Sling Kids will appear as a new channel in the guide, and the content is organized by age group within the channel. Parents that have been somewhat cowed when they found their four-year-old watching a show that’s perhaps better suited to a young teen will probably appreciate the curated content that’s split up into ages 2-4, 5-7, 8-11, and 12+.
Sling TV has recently been diversifying its offerings via extended single-stream and multi-stream services. It also announced deployment on Apple TV back in June, which the company reported was the most requested platform by consumers.
