Corpus Christi Area Measurement Society 2014 School and Exhibition

January 13, 2014 By ECN Staff

The Corpus Christi Area Measurement Society (CCAMS) School and Exhibition will be held February 11-12, 2014 at the Omni Bayfront Hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following last year’s record attendance, this event will again focus on hydrocarbon measurement technologies for both gas and liquids that are most applicable to the rapidly expanding Eagle Ford Shale play of South Texas. Many of the CCAMS board members and long-time school instructors are heavily involved in this producing region, working as producers, pipeline operators, oilfield service/support companies, and other related vendors, and are committed to supporting its tremendous growth. This year’s school will offer over 60 lecture and hands-on classes covering natural gas, refined products, crude oil measurement, and quality principles.

The unique measurement requirements and challenges of the Eagle Ford Shale region will be addressed for students and exhibition attendees during the 2014 conference. Those difficulties include high hydrogen sulfide and significant levels of paraffin in the produced liquids, and numerous general quality issues. A significant number of the planned classes will be hands-on sessions, providing participants with practical experience involving flow computers, Coriolis meters, pressure transmitters, tubing connections, etc. The topics and curriculum are comprehensive, covering the needs of field measurement technicians as well as office personnel who deal with measurement.

The 2014 exhibition will include more than 70 companies who will be presenting their newest measurement-related products and services with special emphasis on the needs of the Eagle Ford Shale region. Many will be able to provide product demos and have the flexibility to schedule individual meetings during the two-day event.

CCAMS School and Exhibition information as well as registration links are available on the web at www.CCAMS.info.

June 2022 Special Edition: Test & Measurement Handbook

A frequency you can count on There are few constants in life, but what few there are might include death, taxes, and a U.S. grid frequency that doesn’t vary by more than ±0.5 Hz. However, the certainty of the grid frequency is coming into question, thanks to the rising percentage of renewable energy sources that…
