Cox Business has extended its fiber network into the SuperNap colocation facility.
The 407,000-square-foot data center is the equivalent to the size of 10 football fields and is one of the largest and most power-dense commercial data centers in the world, according to Cox Business.
“The SuperNap is a world-class hosting facility, and Cox provides leading data transport solutions – it’s a natural fit for businesses seeking carrier-class connectivity to offsite application servers and sensitive corporate data,” said Gil Rapley, vice president of Cox’s Business and Hospitality Network in Las Vegas.
The data center utilizes patented advanced power, cooling and physical security systems to ensure uninterrupted service. SuperNap, which is owned and operated by Switch Communications Group, also features multiple telecommunications carriers to provide broad network connectivity options and create network redundancy.
Cox Business, a division of Cox Communications, built dual fiber entries into the SuperNap, supported by redundant network switching centers and multiple OC-192 fiber rings.
Cox Business said it can serve as the primary and back-up network connection for all data center customers to meet their business continuity requirements. Current Cox Business customers can extend their Cox Business wide area network services to connect to any of Switch’s six data centers.
Last week, Cox Business extended its fiber into i/o Data Centers’ Phoenix One colocation facility, which has more than 530,000 square-feet of data center space.
