Cox Communications is building out its fiber-optic network to serve a new technology park in the west end of Roanoke County, Va.
Once the project is completed in five to six months, Cox Business’ commercial services will be available to more than 30 businesses. The technology park is near the city of Salem, Va.
“We are very excited with this development,” said Kim Stanley, Cox’s vice president of operations in Roanoke. “This investment will allow Cox Business to service business customers who have been unable to get our services. There are businesses who want Cox services, and through this newest effort we are pleased to share that we will soon be able to provide our services to them.”
Cox also announced the addition of eight new HD channels to its Roanoke-area lineup. The new HD channels are: Galavision HD, ESPNU HD, The Weather Channel HD, HD PPV Events, Fox Soccer HD, Starz Edge HD, WE HD and Comcast SportsNet HD.
