Cox Communications recently announced that Andrew Goldberg has joined the company as its new vice president of strategic planning and analysis.
Cox said Goldberg is responsible for facilitating the overall strategic planning process, cascading business unit strategies and portfolio diversification strategies that are required to achieve its growth goals.
“Andrew has almost 20 years of experience successfully shaping corporate strategies, focusing on business development and executing on marketing initiatives,” said Mark Bowser, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cox Communications. “He will play an important role in strategically positioning Cox for the future.”
Prior to Cox, Goldberg served as the senior vice president of corporate development at Bridgevine, a high-growth e-commerce company, where he was responsible for strategy, new business development, distribution alliances, affiliate network development and strategic growth initiatives.
Goldberg also held various leadership roles in AOL’s broadband and corporate divisions. He coordinated the launch of its OTT broadband service, which grew to 20 percent of AOL’s customer base, and later led the internal merger of its dial-up and broadband businesses.
In 2006, he was named general manager of planning and development for AOL premium services, which included managing strategic planning, business development and marketing initiatives for a business unit offering free and subscription-based consumer Web services.
