Cox Communications announced that Lisa Pickelsimer has been promoted to executive director of video product development.
Pickelsimer will now be responsible for driving the development of all new product initiatives that encompass video, including televisions, the PC and wireless devices. Current areas of focus include Cox’s set-top receiver video user interface, video-on-demand, digital video recording, interactive television, video mobility and support for the industry’s tru2way video retail device initiative.
The promotion was announced by Steve Necessary, Cox’s vice president of video strategy and product management.
“Lisa [Pickelsimer] has demonstrated superior leadership in our most important undertakings over the past few years and is the right person to take our video product development activities to the next level,” Necessary said.
Pickelsimer joined Cox in 1999 as senior analyst of new media development for Cox Enterprises and was promoted to manager of new media development in 2000.
She joined Cox Communications in 2001 as manager of video product development and was promoted to director of video product development in 2003. Prior to joining Cox, she held positions at Scientific Atlanta.
