Cox Communications has promoted long-time employee John Wolfe to senior vice president and general manager of its New England/Cleveland market.
In his new role at Cox, Wolfe now oversees the day-to-day operations for the company’s 1,400 employees in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio. Prior to his promotion, Wolfe was vice president of government and public affairs.
Wolfe took over for Paul Cronin, who is now at Cox’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta as senior vice president of customer experience.
“John has a brilliant business mind and is a great team leader. He’s been in the industry for a long time and Cox’s New England-Cleveland assets will be in good hands under his leadership,” said Alex Taylor, senior vice president of field operations for Cox Communications.
Wolfe joined Cox in 1995, and as vice president of government and public affairs he oversaw the development of the company’s regional government affairs, internal and external communications, and corporate philanthropy strategies.
In addition to leading the company’s communications and government relations activities for the past few months, Wolfe also served as the region’s interim general manager.
Wolfe is vice-chairman of the board of directors of the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association.
