Cox Communications was ranked 20th on DiversityInc’s Diversity list, which marked the fifth-straight year that the nations’ third-largest cable operator was ranked on the list of top-25 companies.
Cox’s ranking reflected its “unwavering commitment to improving the inclusiveness of its workplaces; its focus on delivering the best, most relevant services to its customers; its diversity leadership with vendors; and the company’s dedication to communities it serves,” according to the cable operator’s press release from this morning.
“Cox Communications has thoughtfully planned for the incorporation of diversity and inclusion practices and goals into our business priorities in order to insure the future success of our company. Our company is enriched by the diversity of thinking in our workplaces, helping us to create and deliver better services and produce more satisfied customers who trust us to deliver their entertainment and communications services,” said Cox President Pat Esser, who also leads the company’s corporate diversity and inclusion council. “Cox is honored that DiversityInc has recognized us once again for making diversity and inclusion a key business practice for our employees, customers and partners.”
Overall, it was Cox’s sixth year on the list.
This year, 535 companies participated in the Diversity list rankings, which was an increase of 19 percent from last year.
In addition to its ranking by DiversityInc, Cox said it had also earned diversity distinction for three consecutive years with a 100 percent rating in the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. For seven consecutive years, Cox has been named the Best Operator for Women in the annual Women in Cable Telecommunications PAR Survey.
