Cox Communications has started running its “Unbelievably Fair” ad campaign in Oklahoma City and Tulsa ahead of the launch of its wireless service in the Sooner State.
Cox launched its wireless service, which uses Sprint’s 3G CDMA EVDO Rev A network, in November in Hampton Roads, Va., Omaha, Neb., and Orange County, Calif., all of which were previously trial markets for the service.
Like the previous launches, Cox prepped the Oklahoma areas with “Solution Stores” to give its customers access to the services and devices in a retail environment. The Oklahoma stores opened last year.
“Cox’s Unbelievably Fair wireless service is striking a positive chord with customers in our initial wireless markets,” said Stephen Bye, Cox’s vice president of wireless. “And now we will continue to bring our successful wireless model to additional Cox markets, beginning with Oklahoma.”
Cox didn’t say when the wireless service was launching in Oklahoma or what the prices will be for the different tiers of service. The pricing could be similar to what Cox is offering in the first three markets.
Cox’s Unbelievably Fair service includes “MoneyBack Minutes” that give customers credit for unused minutes on that month’s billing cycle. In the previous rollouts, customers could receive up to $20 a month with MoneyBack Minutes.
A spokesman for Cox wrote in an e-mail to CED this morning that the Oklahoma service will support the same Android and Brew devices as the previous launches.
On the horizon, Cox said it plans on unveiling “Mobile Solutions” as the centerpiece of its Oklahoma stores, featuring Cox’s wireless products and services and highlighting the integration of Cox services.
