Broadband consumers living in multiple dwelling units (MDUs) who are keen on getting 1 Gbps have been getting a lot of attention from service providers lately. For obvious reasons, Gigabit Internet providers are targeting those high-density areas where subscription numbers can climb quickly after the launch, and where there’s the promise of relatively swift return on engineering investments.
One of the latest providers to deploy Gigabit Internet to MDUs is Cox Communications, which announced its service rollout this week for residential customers in Tucson. Debuting at The Place @ Presidio Trails, which is an apartment homes community, G1GABLAST offers “speeds 100 times faster than the average speed in the U.S. today,” Cox reports in a statement.
G1GABLAST will be available for around $100 per month when combined with Cox bundles. The service also includes the a high-speed WiFi router, 1 terabyte of cloud storage, Cox Security Suite and Family Protection, and 10 email boxes each with 15 gigabytes of storage.
