On the cusp of its wireless network launch, Videotron announced that Isabelle Dessureault has returned to the cable operator as its vice president of corporate affairs.
Dessureault returned to Videotron after leading Quebecor Media’s public relations department. Videotron is a subsidiary of Quebecor.
Videotron said Dessureault would play a key role in the launch of its wireless network. During an earnings call last week Quebecor said the wireless network was 95 percent complete and on track to launch this summer.
As vice president of corporate affairs, Dessureault will report directly to Videotron President Robert Dépatie and will be responsible for public relations and internal communications.
Videotron said she will guide the development of the operator’s positioning and its outreach strategies for various audiences, in consultation with her colleagues at Videotron’s marketing and human resources departments and at Quebecor Media’s investor relations and regulatory, institutional and governmental affairs departments.
At Vox, Videotron’s community channel, Dessureault’s job will be to deliver content on multiple platforms, including the new wireless service.
“I and the entire management team are excited to have Isabelle back,” Dépatie said. “The qualities she brings to the table – her positive leadership, her creativity, her talent for zeroing in on the core issues and seizing every opportunity – will be valuable assets in the dawning wireless age at Videotron.”
In last week’s second-quarter earnings call, Videotron lost 4,000 video subscribers, which was its first negative TV subscriber growth in the last 20 quarters.
