Sometimes motorcycles are put on the backburner when it comes to implementing safety technology. They are often the last to gain features such as ABS brakes and airbags, and even today they have yet to get seatbelts.
Taiwanese company Senzar is putting motorcycles at the forefront with a new technology that warns motorcyclists of blind spots. The device attaches to a motorist’s license plate holder, and the radar can see 30 ft. on both sides of the rider.
If it detects an object in its sight, lights will flash on the mirror attachment indicating a vehicle, person, or object. It also vibrates the rider’s seat, which is “strong enough for you to feel through your riding gear,” according to the company.
The Senzar kit will launch soon, but those who are interested in the early bird special can get it for half price at $399.
