The massive Samsung Galaxy View—an 18.4-inch tablet—is going to debut at AT&T stores and online via AT&T on Friday, Nov. 20.
The tablet, which supports DirecTV and comes with 64 GB of storage, will retail for $499.99 with a two-year agreement. However, new DirecTV customers can sign up for a 24-month DirecTV contract and get the Galaxy View for $99.99, with a two-year wireless agreement. Alternately, DirecTV customers can get it for the same price by activating a new phone contract with AT&T Next.
The AT&T version of the tablet comes with a unique feature: press power and the volume up button simultaneously to launch the DirectTV app from the black screen or lock screen.
The Galaxy View is Samsung’s latest attempt at eating in to some of the iPad’s market share, and it certainly beats it—and some MacBooks– on sheer size.
