Dish Network has unveiled a new Hopper DVR that can record up to 16 shows simultaneously and can split a users screen to display up to four shows at once in 1080p or six shows in 720p on a 4k screen.
Unveiled last week at CES 2016, the Hopper 3 also includes Slingbox compatibility to stream live TV via the Internet.
According to Dish, the Hopper 3 runs on a Broadcom quad-core processor and comes with outfits for HDMI 2.0 and gigabit ethernet and a USB 3.0 port that will allow users to utilize external storage.
Hopper 3 is expected to be released in the coming weeks, Dish said.
Dish also launched the $99 HopperGo, a portable DVR that allows up to five users to independently stream video to their smartphone, tablet or laptop via Wi-Fi. The HopperGo can also connect to a Hopper 2 or 3 to allow content sharing between the devices.
The 64GB HopperGo can store up to 100 hours of content.
Alongside the new DVRs, Dish also announced a new slate of 4k programming that will include Sony Pictures movies, as well as a selection of action, thriller, romance and independent films from The Orchard and Mance Media. Customers will also be able to get 4k programming through the Netflix app on the Hopper 3, Dish said.
