Disney has become the latest content provider to take advantage of Apple TV’s API search feature, 9to5Mac reported.
The update – which includes Watch ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Jr and Disney X.D – brings the total number of channels on the list to 15. Other content providers in the search feature include iTunes, HBO NOW, Hulu, Netflix, PBS, Showtime, FOX NOW, and National Geographic.
The additions are available to fourth-generation Apple TV owners.
Unveiled in September, the Apple TV universal search allows users to hunt for content using voice commands given to Siri. Siri then searches across all video Apps the user has and displays the ways a user can watch the content they’re searching for.
For example, a search for the show “Modern Family” would now be displayed as being available through Hulu, iTunes, Netflix and ABC.
Apple TV users who want to conduct a search with Siri but have lost their remote will soon be able to find relief from an update to the Apple TV Remote app for iPhone.
According to Apple Senior Vice President of Software and Services Eddy Cue, the updated app will feature all the same capabilities that are part fo the Apple TV remote, including Siri search.
