ECIA announced the following honorees of the association’s Distinguished Service Awards. The ECIA Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the association by sharing their time and energy.
Keith Barber, Texas Instruments, World Wide Account Manager for Texas Instruments. Keith has served on the ECIA Board of Directors since 2013 and has taken an active role in shaping association policy.
Doug Canterbury, Luscombe Engineering, President and CEO of Luscombe Engineering, a manufacturers rep firm Doug took an active role in the ECIA 3 years ago, first serving on the Foundation Board in 2014 then transitioning to the ECIA Board of Directors.
Tobi Cornell, Kruvand Associates. Tobi has served on the Dallas Regional Series planning committee and the conference planning committee. For the past 4 years, she has been a passionate participant in Project Host at EDS, offering to allow college juniors to shadow her during meetings.
Chuck Delph, Avnet Americas Chuck began his term on the EDS Board in 2012 and was dedicated to improving this key industry Summit. With his leadership as President in 2017, the sold-out show had record attendance.
Phillip Gerard, C&K Components Phillip has served on the ECIA Board since 2013 and participated on the Statistics and Industry Data Council.
Diane Sweeney, TE Connectivity Diane has been involved in industry association work for many years and was awarded this distinction the first time in 2013. She is now completing her term on the ECIA Foundation Board where she held the position of Board Vice President in 2014.
“The 2017 honorees embody the spirit of giving back and have gone above and beyond their day jobs in the service of the association and the industry. These individuals make it a point to get involved in association committees and on the board of directors,” explained Dave Doherty in presenting the awards.”They work tirelessly to develop standards, improve programs, and set direction that benefits the industry and makes our association relevant and world class. With this award we acknowledge these leaders and express our gratitude for their work on our behalf,” he concluded.
